Lakes and Waterfalls in Canada From TikTok: Banff to Squamish
Turquoise glacial water is the reason most people post these. Moraine Lake leads with three videos, and Peyto Lake joins it in Banff National Park in the Rockies. The other three are in British Columbia: Lindeman Lake in the Fraser Valley near Chilliwack, and two waterfalls along the Sea to Sky corridor at Squamish, Shannon Falls and the Squamish Canyon boardwalks.
All five are free. Effort varies: Shannon Falls is a 350-meter paved walk, Lindeman Lake a 3.4 km round trip with no cell service at the trailhead, and Peyto is viewed from the Bow Summit lookout. One post films a Banff to Vancouver road trip, which is a natural way to link them. Banff holds the most posted of the five.

Where creators go
- Moraine Lake
A glacier-fed lake in Banff National Park with vivid turquoise water below the Valley of the Ten Peaks, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Three posts include it, one in a 3-day Banff itinerary and one about the rare cliffside chipmunks. Free, and the most posted place on this page.
- Peyto Lake
A glacial lake in Banff National Park famous for its wolf-head shape and turquoise color, seen from the Bow Summit lookout. The post is a Rockies sunset, which hints at a good time to go up. Free to visit, and an easy add on the same Banff trip as Moraine Lake.
- Lindeman Lake
An alpine lake in the Fraser Valley near Chilliwack with jewel-blue water and mountain views, on a 3.4 km round-trip trail. The water is very cold all year, backcountry camping needs a permit, and there is no cell service at the trailhead, so download maps first. The post caption: 'Turns out this is all you need'.
- Shannon Falls Provincial Park
A 335-meter waterfall at Britannia Beach, the third highest in British Columbia, at the end of an easy 350-meter paved trail. Picnic areas and flush toilets make it simple with kids. The creator's spot involves a river crossing, though, and they advise checking tides and water conditions before trying it.
- Squamish Canyon
A 19-meter waterfall with turquoise water in coastal rainforest, viewed from a raised boardwalk system above the gorge. There is a Forest Lounge and a children's play area, but strollers and dogs are not allowed on the boardwalks. It appears as a stop on a Banff to Vancouver road trip.
Two waterfalls near Squamish
Shannon Falls and Squamish Canyon sit close together on the Sea to Sky route, and they suit different groups. Shannon Falls is the easy one, with a short paved path and toilets. Squamish Canyon is more structured, with boardwalks and viewing platforms, but plan on leaving the stroller and the dog behind.
Good to know
Moraine Lake in Banff National Park leads with three posts, for its turquoise water below the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Peyto Lake, also in Banff, and Lindeman Lake near Chilliwack in British Columbia each appear once. All three are free to visit.
