Where to Eat in Madrid, According to TikTok Creators
Madrid on TikTok is a city of grills. The two most posted places, with four posts each, both cook over fire. At Lana in Chamberí, an Argentinian-style steakhouse, a creator says to walk into the kitchen, pick your cut and leave room for the flan. Los 33 on Plaza de las Salesas is posted for its milanesa, its bikini sandwich and an oxtail pasta finished on the grill. Restaurants make up 44 of the 71 Madrid places on the site, with 11 bars beside them.
Two more places have three posts each. Akiro Hand Roll Bar on Calle de Hermosilla takes no reservations, and both posts single out the hand rolls. Restaurante Botín, open since 1725 and holder of a Guinness record as the oldest restaurant, is posted for suckling pig from its original wood-fired oven and a Basque cheesecake; booking ahead is essential, one creator says.

More steak and grills
Beyond Lana and Los 33, meat keeps coming up. Casa Julián de Tolosa appears twice, as two branches. The one on Cava Baja in a 200-year-old building grills prime beef on an inclined grill and has two forks in the Michelin Guide; at the branch on Calle de Ibiza near Retiro, a creator recommends the slow-roasted leeks and the dry-aged ribeye. Charrúa in Centro cooks Uruguayan and Argentinian cuts over an open flame in a candlelit room, and reservations are recommended. Gabo's goes American, with wagyu cheeseburgers and a French dip in a vaulted basement on Calle de Prim.
Tapas, tortilla and cheap bites
The tapas bars come with specific orders attached. A creator who tried more than 50 tortillas calls the one with caramelized onion at Alto Bar the best she has found in Madrid. At Bar Serranito on Calle de Serrano, the marinera is the dish to get. Casa Macareno in Malasaña is an old-style tavern for ham croquettes and vermouth, and Cervecería El Doble in Chamberí pours cañas with tinned seafood; go early, before the fresh seafood sells out. For very little money, 100 Montaditos runs 1 euro items on Sundays and Wednesdays, 99 Cheesecake sells individual cheesecakes for 0.99 euros, and Carúpanadas in Chueca fries Venezuelan corn empanadas.
Natural wine and Japanese fusion
Two small wine bars cover the natural wine side. Corchito in Antón Martín is candlelit and pours natural wines from Spain, France and Italy with plates like marinated mussels. Fun Fun in La Latina pairs natural Spanish wines with plant-based small plates under art-covered walls. For Japanese food beyond Akiro, Lionna on Calle de Recoletos mixes Japanese and Latin cooking over two floors, with hamachi tacos and sea bass al pastor on the menu, and a creator says to order the crispy rice.
Good to know
