Lisbon Restaurants Creators Keep Posting
Lisbon's creators keep coming back to two things: charcoal chicken and seafood. Restaurante A Valenciana, a restaurant operating since 1914 near Eduardo VII Park, is the most posted of these 42, filmed for its piri-piri chicken, and Cervejaria Ramiro anchors the seafood side. Several entries come from one creator's list of favorites after five years living in the city, so small tascas sit beside famous names.
Prices lean moderate. The cheap end includes a self-service canteen with daily menus under 10€ and a taqueria selling €2 tacos, while JNcQUOI Asia on Avenida da Liberdade and Bar Alimentar in Príncipe Real sit at the expensive end. Bairro Alto, Príncipe Real and São Bento hold many of the sit-down places, and pizza is well represented: Lupita and La Camionetta lead, and three more pizza restaurants are listed.

Where creators go
- Restaurante A Valenciana
In business since 1914 on Rua Marquês de Fronteira, near Eduardo VII Park, and the most posted restaurant on this page. A 'tourist trap vs local favorite' video puts it on the local side and shows how to order chicken and sides at the counter to take away. Other creators mention very friendly staff and a room that feels alive. Order the charcoal-grilled piri-piri chicken.
- Cervejaria Ramiro
The seafood house on Avenida Almirante Reis, recommended in two creators' Lisbon lists. Shrimp and clams are the signatures, and the house custom is a prego steak sandwich at the end of the meal, eaten as dessert. It is one of the expensive places here and online reservations are required, so plan it rather than drop in.
- Bar Alimentar
A candlelit gastrobar on Rua Nova da Piedade in Príncipe Real, where Portuguese small plates take an Italian turn: crispy polenta with beef tartare, whipped cod cannoli. A curated natural wine list and creative cocktails complete it. It appears in a 2026 Lisbon food guide and in an '11 days of the best food of my life' video. Expensive, and suited to a date.
- Bonjardim
The other half of the piri-piri chicken comparison. That video files Bonjardim, on Travessa de Santo Antão, as the tourist favorite, yet still shows off the grilled chicken and the esparregado, a spinach side dish. A second creator keeps it on the list from a solo week in Lisbon. With two dinners to spare, try it and A Valenciana and compare.
- Lupita
Naturally leavened Neapolitan-style pizza on Rua de São Paulo, with a short menu in a sparse industrial room. The video that features it is titled after a 90-minute wait, so expect a queue. The creator's orders: the spicy vodka pizza with sausage and an off-menu summer pizza with peaches. The garlic bread is the other thing it is known for.
- Das Flores
No sign on the door at Rua das Flores 76: look for the number. It is lunch only and often fully booked by 11 am. The cooking is Portuguese comfort food, with award-winning cod cakes, alheira sausage with fries and egg, homemade soups and almond pie. One of the cheapest sit-down meals on this list, and only for those who arrive early.
- Cantina das Freiras
A self-service canteen on the top floor of Palacete O'Neill, on Travessa do Ferragial, serving daily meat and fish specials for under 10€. Beyond the price, the reason to go is the panoramic view over the Tagus River. Expect a modest room and homemade Portuguese food, not a restaurant evening.

Steak sandwiches, bifanas and seafood counters
Cervejaria Ramiro has a neighbor on the same avenue, Almirante Reis: A Marisqueira do Lis serves goose barnacles, well-poured beer and a tender prego, with daily lunch specials, and a creator mentions it for amazing seafood. For bifanas, one creator's pick is O Trevo on Praça Luís de Camões in Bairro Alto. Café de São Bento covers steak in a sit-down room, where the signature dish is simply called 'O Bife'.
Small plates and natural wine
Familjen on Rua do Machadinho blends Nordic cooking with seasonal Portuguese produce, pours natural wine and seats guests at a counter facing the kitchen; the bathroom walls are covered in interactive graffiti. Ofício on Rua Nova da Trindade holds a Bib Gourmand for contemporary Portuguese sharing plates. ARCA in Bairro Alto works with fish and vegetables, plus a piri-piri chicken with tzatziki, and at A Nossa Casa, also in Bairro Alto, the creator stresses that you must call to reserve.
Tacos and agave
La Malquerida on Travessa do Marquês de Sampaio charges €2 per taco, dropping to €1 during its daily happy hour from 6 to 7 PM; birria tacos with cheese are the signature, and the sauces are free. Bodega Chafa, on Rua dos Poiais de São Bento, pairs al pastor and baja fish tacos with one of Europe's largest collections of agave spirits. It takes no reservations and serves breakfast burritos on weekends from 12:00 to 17:00.
Good to know
Restaurante A Valenciana is the top pick, filmed three times and labeled the local favorite in a side-by-side video. The same video calls Bonjardim on Travessa de Santo Antão the tourist favorite while still praising its grilled chicken and esparregado. ARCA in Bairro Alto serves its own piri-piri chicken with tzatziki, and UMA Churrasqueira and Zubir Churrasqueira are also on the page.
