Delete your MapDreamy account
How to delete your account and what happens to your data
This page explains how to delete your MapDreamy account and the data associated with it. MapDreamy is published by Retify UG (haftungsbeschränkt).
Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app
This is immediate and needs no request:
- Open MapDreamy and go to your profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm at Delete everything, then again at Yes, delete my account.
- If you signed up with an email address and password, enter your password to confirm.
Your account and its content are deleted straight away. This cannot be undone.
Option 2 — request deletion by email
If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, email support@mapdreamy.com from the address associated with your account, with the subject Delete my MapDreamy account. We may ask a question to confirm the account is yours. Requests are handled within 30 days, normally much sooner.
Deleting only some of your data (without closing your account)
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data:
- A saved place — open it on your map and remove it from your map.
- A collection — open the collection and delete it, or remove individual places from it.
- A post you imported — open it and delete it.
- A comment — open it and delete it.
- A shared map — leave it, or remove yourself as a member.
These deletions are immediate and permanent. You can also email support@mapdreamy.com to ask us to delete specific data for you; we respond within 30 days.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- your account and profile, including your name, email address and profile photo;
- your saved places and the posts you imported into your own map;
- your collections and the shares you created for them;
- your usage statistics and personal activity data;
- your push notification token and device identifiers;
- your contributions to shared maps and trips, which are removed or unlinked from you.
What may be kept, and for how long
- Content other people saved. If someone else saved a place or post you shared into their own map, their copy stays in their account. It is no longer linked to you.
- Records we must keep by law. Purchase and invoice records are retained where commercial and tax law requires it (in Germany, generally 6 to 10 years). They are not used for anything else.
- Backups. Deleted data may persist in encrypted backup copies for a short period and is purged on a rolling basis.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a MapDreamy Pro subscription. Cancel it in the Google Play Store under Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions before deleting your account, otherwise billing continues.
