Restaurants in Italy From TikTok: Bologna, Milan and Beyond
Bologna is the center of gravity. Close to half of the 39 places are in the city or just outside it, and the posts read like a grazing plan: a mortadella sandwich on rosetta bread, a €1.70 slice by the Two Towers, cured meat and cheese boards for aperitivo, fresh pasta in the covered Mercato di Mezzo. Out of town, an old inn in San Giovanni in Persiceto makes tortellini in cream skimmed from the top of the milk.
Milan's posts split two ways: Via Paolo Sarpi in Chinatown for tteokbokki, dumplings and onigiri, and the rest of the city for pizza in Brera, schiacciata near the Duomo and Langosteria's seafood on Via Savona. Florence adds truffle pasta and a handwritten daily menu, and Bergamo a former monastery and prison. A few posts are road trips: Lake Como, a fireplace steak in Saturnia, a sea cave in Polignano a Mare. Every place has one mention, so this is a map of finds, not a ranking.

Where creators go
- Mò Mortadella Lab
Mortadella on homemade rosetta bread is the whole idea at Mò Mortadella Lab on Via San Vitale in Bologna. The Rosetta da Strada is its signature sandwich, Gambero Rosso has recognized it, and the creator who put it on a save-for-Bologna list says to order the number 4. Price level is Cheap, and it also offers home delivery.
- Pizzeria Due Torri
The lowest price quoted anywhere on this page belongs to Pizzeria Due Torri on Strada Maggiore in Bologna, near the Two Towers: pizza by the slice from €1.70, according to the creator. It is a casual stop with takeaway and delivery, featured in a post of top Bologna food moments. Think of it as a snack between sights rather than a sit-down dinner.
- Antica Osteria del Mirasole
In San Giovanni in Persiceto, outside Bologna, this ancient-style inn cooks Emilian food from the owner's own farm and dairy over an open hearth. Creators know it for tortellini in Mirasole cream, skimmed from the top of the milk, and for tiramisu served in an espresso cup. Guinea fowl cooked in ashes is on the menu, and there are two tasting menus.
- Osteria Vini e Vecchi Sapori
A small family-run osteria on Via dei Magazzini in Florence, with a handwritten menu that changes daily. The highlights are Tuscan staples: pappardelle with duck ragù, peposo beef stew and ribollita. The creator, who keeps sending friends and family here, likes the genuine feel and the friendly service. Reservations are essential, so book before you reach Florence.
- Grotta Palazzese
Dinner inside a natural sea cave above the Adriatic is why people post Grotta Palazzese in Polignano a Mare. It is Luxury priced, with a tasting menu and à la carte. The creator went despite reading many mixed reviews, and the advice is practical: reserve well in advance, and arrive 15 minutes before your slot to try for one of the front tables.
- La Locanda Tremezzo
On the main road through Tremezzo on Lake Como, La Locanda Tremezzo serves seafood and pasta with lake-view seats inside and out. The creator ate here several times on one trip and calls it their favorite restaurant. From the highlights, order the fritto misto di mare and the tagliolini al nero di seppia. It is close to Villa Carlotta, which makes it an easy stop on the same day.
- Il Verzeratt dal 1919
Il Verzeratt is a historic fruit and vegetable kiosk on Via Osti in Milan, near the Basilica di San Nazaro in Brolo, that doubles as an aperitivo spot. It is listed as a Bottega Storica di Milano and keeps separate areas for shopping and for eating and drinking on site. A creator includes it in a post of Milan's most iconic spots.
More restaurants in Italy
Bologna, stall by stall
Beyond the picks, the Bologna posts are mostly about markets, delis and boards of cured meat. The page also lists trattorias such as Trattoria Da Cesari and Trattoria Nonna Rosa, the Tamburini restaurant, Salumeria Simoni for sandwiches and Tigellino, a street food stall.
- Mercato di Mezzo in the Quadrilatero: a covered market with fresh pasta, tortellini, mortadella and cured meat platters, communal tables and a basement beer and wine bar.
- Ceccarelli Amedeo on Via Pescherie Vecchie: an Emilian-Romagnolo deli in the Quadrilatero since 1980, selling prepared dishes to take away.
- La Prosciutteria on Via Oberdan: cured meats and cheeses on large wooden boards, with Italian wines for aperitivo.
- Osteria Bartolini on Piazza Malpighi: seafood platters, with an outdoor aperitivo area under a huge plane tree.
- Crunchy on Via Fondazza: croissants, panini and pasta; the owner, Gianluca, cooks special dishes on request, and pasta is not always on the menu. Cheap.
Milan: Via Paolo Sarpi and the rest of the city
One creator's walk down Via Paolo Sarpi produced three stops. Ajumma Tteokbokki serves its tteokbokki under melted cheese, though the creator found it less spicy than expected. Hangzhou Xiaolongbao sells a fried dumpling and drink combo in one cup. Mini Kombini, a Japanese-style convenience store, has onigiri and an egg salad sandwich the creator calls a classic. Elsewhere in Milan, a former local's guide sends people to All'Antico Vinaio near the Duomo for schiacciata, to Dry Milano in Brera for cocktails and a pizza ranked among the world's top 50, and to Langosteria for red tuna and a six-course seafood tasting menu at Luxury prices.
Florence, Bergamo and the long drives
Established in 1986, Osteria delle Tre Panche in Florence became known for truffle dishes and now has a second location with a rooftop view over the city. In Bergamo's Città Alta, Il Circolino Città Alta serves local food and pizza inside a former monastery and prison, and Il Fornaio on Via Colleoni is the place to pick up focaccia while walking the old town. Further out, I Due Cippi in Saturnia grills steak over an open fire and appears in a Top 10 Steak Restaurants in Europe 2026 post. In Naples, Ice Fish sells fresh fried seafood on Sundays from 10:30 am to 2 pm; arrive around 11 before it sells out.
