Restaurants in Japan From TikTok: Ramen, Wagyu and Sushi
Noodles take the largest share of these posts. Creators queue for Bib Gourmand ramen in Osaka and Kyoto, cross Tokyo for tsukemen (one post calls not skipping the dipping noodles the best Japan tip) and stop at a Ginza udon house established in 1894. Beef is the second thread: dry-aged wagyu burgers in Namba, A5 wagyu tempura in Shiba, sukiyaki at a house founded in 1868 and wood-fired wagyu in Nishiazabu.
Mentions are low and even. Three places have two posts each and the rest one, so read this as a spread of creators' finds rather than a ranking. Tokyo has the most places, spread across Ginza, Ikebukuro, Nihonbashi and beyond; many of Osaka's sit around Namba; Kyoto has eight; Okinawa contributes one beachside jerk chicken truck. Prices run from a ¥1,000 tamagoyaki lunch set to Luxury course dinners, and several small counters take cash only.

Where creators go
- Salmon Kat Namba
A small salmon-only kaisendon shop in a basement in Sennichimae, Osaka, a short walk from Namba Station. Salmon Kat Namba serves generous salmon chirashi bowls and very little else, and it is one of the three most posted restaurants in Japan on this page. Come hungry: portion size is the selling point, and the room is casual and aimed at a hearty meal.
- Sengyo Uotoyo
Sengyo Uotoyo is a long-established, family-run eel shop in the Kuromon Market area of Nipponbashi, Osaka. It grills Kansai-style eel over binchotan charcoal, crisp outside and soft inside. Creators put it in street food posts and point to the family's focus on simple, fresh recipes. It seats six, takes cash only and has a Cheap price level.
- 廻転鮨 銀座おのでら 本店
廻転鮨 銀座おのでら 本店 is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant serving Edomae-style sushi, with chefs working in front of you and tuna sourced from Yamayuki. Despite the Ginza in its name it sits in Jingūmae, Tokyo, a minute from Omotesando Station. It features in a list of affordable Tokyo restaurants that felt underpriced. Expect a line and arrive early; last entry is 21:30.
- Mugito Mensuke
One creator's advice is direct: if you only have time for one ramen in Osaka, make it Mugito Mensuke, and order the special shoyu ramen. It is a Bib Gourmand shop in Toyosaki, Kita Ward, making soy-sauce ramen from guinea fowl and free-range chicken broth with house-made noodles. Counter seats only, cash only, and daily queues.
- Chinese Noodles ROKU
ROKU sits on the second floor of the Good Nature Station building in Kyoto, and a creator ranks it among the top three ramen in all of Japan. The broth uses five meats, duck and venison among them, served at a quiet counter that feels closer to kaiseki than a noodle bar. The tips from the post: go around 6:30 pm to miss the queue, and drop steamed dumplings into the soup.
- Godaime Hanayama Udon
Godaime Hanayama Udon in Ginza, Tokyo, has served udon since 1894 and holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Its Oni Himokawa noodles are exceptionally wide, flat and chewy, and the Ginza set brings hot and cold udon with tempura. It appears in a creator's list of affordable Tokyo restaurants that felt underpriced, a useful find in a district better known for high prices.
- Iseju
Iseju has cooked sukiyaki since 1868 in Nihonbashi-Kodenmachō, Tokyo, with hand-cut A5 kuroge wagyu cooked in traditional iron pots, and private dining rooms. A creator who treats every Tokyo trip as a full food tour recommends set A. Price level is Expensive, so this is a planned dinner rather than a casual stop.
- Okinawa Jerk Chicken
Far from the ramen counters, Okinawa Jerk Chicken is a beachside food truck by Naminoue Beach in Naha. The creator who found it calls it some of the most flavorful, juicy jerk chicken they have had, and compares it favorably with the Jamaican food they know from Toronto. Cheap, casual and outdoors, it fits an afternoon at the beach.

More ramen and tsukemen
Three Tokyo shops come from one creator's list of five tsukemen places. Menya Nakagawa near Ikebukuro Station pairs chicken and seafood broth with thick roasted wheat-germ noodles and finishes with a cheese risotto; it is cash only. Niboshi Tsukemen Miyamoto in Kamata makes a concentrated dried-sardine dip for house-made noodles. Ginza Oborozuki in Ginza is from the same post. In Kyoto, Menya Inoichi Hanare holds a Bib Gourmand for dashi-based and wagyu ramen; expect long waits at peak hours. Tsukemen Kinryu and Tsukemen Marucho Mejiro are also on the page.
Wagyu, gyukatsu and tonkatsu
Beef posts split between counters and splurges.
- FORNO in Nishiazabu, Tokyo: wagyu over a wood fire in an 18-seat room with an open kitchen, served as a course; cuts include Chateaubriand, rump and sirloin. Luxury, and reservations are available.
- ONIQUE TOKYO in Shiba, Tokyo: A5 wagyu as chateaubriand tempura, shabu-shabu and claypot rice, with Tokyo Tower visible from some seats.
- KITAN HIBIKI(㐂舌響) in Namba, Osaka: dry-aged wagyu, and a wagyu steak burger the creator highly recommends.
- Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu Sanjo-Kawaramachi in Kyoto: medium-rare beef cutlets, last order 22:00.
- Kyomachibori Nakamura in Osaka: pork, not beef, served as an omakase tonkatsu course at the counter, a creator's favorite in the city. Cash only.
Breakfast, lunch sets and the unexpected
Not every post is about noodles or beef. In Osaka, Gettō in Semba serves a ¥1,000 lunch set built around a dashi omelet with a runny orange yolk inside. In Tokyo, Blue Entrance Kitchen in Meguro makes Okinawa-influenced tacos; the creator's pick is the WAGYU Cheese Birria at 1380 JPY and warns that one taco is usually enough. Ginza Breakfast Lab runs a live-kitchen buffet of Japanese and Western small plates inside Hotel Musse Ginza Meitetsu. In Kyoto, Charlie serves fusion dishes such as hayashi rice and gyoza in a renovated machiya with a child's bedroom upstairs.
Good to know
In Osaka, Mugito Mensuke, where one creator says to order the special shoyu if you only eat one ramen in the city. In Kyoto, Chinese Noodles ROKU for its five-meat broth and Menya Inoichi Hanare for dashi ramen. All three hold a Michelin Bib Gourmand. For tsukemen in Tokyo, the posts point to Menya Nakagawa in Ikebukuro and Niboshi Tsukemen Miyamoto in Kamata.
