Trinidad and Tobago From TikTok: Beaches and Falls
The posts split the two islands neatly. Tobago gets the beaches, reefs and boat trips; Trinidad gets rainforest hikes that end at a waterfall or a remote bay. Three Tobago places share the top spot with two posts each: Pigeon Point Heritage Park, with its thatched-roof jetty, the waist-deep Nylon Pool out at sea, and Englishman's Bay, an undeveloped crescent of sand backed by rainforest.
On Tobago, Scarborough has the largest page with seven places, followed by Crown Point with three and Castara with two. On Trinidad, start with Blanchisseuse, whose five places include the north coast hikes, then Sangre Grande and Diego Martin with two each. Diego Martin's pair is a river and Gaspar Grande, an island with sea-fed caves and old whaling ruins.
Tobago by boat and by beach
Several Tobago spots are reached by water. Nylon Pool is a sandbank visited on boat tours, and No Man's Land, a coral-sand spit in Bon Accord Lagoon, is boat-only; the post suggests stopping there for a cocktail and local food. Pigeon Point runs glass-bottom boats to Buccoo Reef. Back on land, Buccoo is the fishing village by the reef, where a creator recommends Sunday School for the steel band. Pirate's Bay near Charlotteville takes 157 wooden steps to reach and has no facilities, but the record lists excellent snorkeling.
Trinidad's waterfall hikes
Avocat Waterfall is a 1.3 km rainforest hike from Blanchisseuse to a clear plunge pool, with nowhere to change. Paria Bay is wilder: a 2 to 3 hour hike or a boat ride to a white beach with the Cathedral Arch rock formation, and Paria Waterfall is a 15-minute walk from the sand, with a large pool and river crossings that make checking the weather worthwhile. Near Sangre Grande, Rio Seco Waterfall takes 40 to 60 minutes through forest to an emerald pool, and Manulot Falls shows rainbows in its mist from November to March.
Staying and eating on Tobago
Castara Retreats is a set of eco-lodges above a fishing village, and the post recommends a stay for the views and local feel. Castara Waterfall, a small forest pool, is reached on a forest trail, and one creator's advice is to be careful flying a drone there. In Crown Point, Bite and Swallows serves Tobago breakfasts such as baigan choka and coconut bake, and a post suggests the steak and shrimp platter. For a longer day, Jesus Hill is a steep, challenging ridge hike with views over Store Bay, and Fort King George has 1770s cannons and a museum.
Good to know
By boat. Both are stops on tours to Buccoo Reef: Nylon Pool is a waist-deep sandbank in the open sea, and No Man's Land is an uninhabited beach on a spit in Bon Accord Lagoon. Pigeon Point Heritage Park runs glass-bottom boat tours to the reef, and the Buccoo record lists them too.
