Best Apps to Save Places From TikTok and Instagram (October 2026)
As of October 2026, several apps can turn a TikTok or Instagram post into a pin on a map. MapDreamy, GeoTok, Korka, Travio and Rhyme (formerly Roamy) are built around that job, Doko, Punkt and Wanderlog offer it alongside other features, and Google Maps and Mapstr remain good for saving places by hand.
The right pick depends on what you save (only restaurants, or everything), whether you want trips planned from it, and how you feel about subscriptions. Each app below was checked against its current App Store or Google Play listing, and the descriptions stick to what those listings say. MapDreamy is our app; it is listed first, with the same treatment as the rest.
Updated Oct 2026.
What to look for
- Automatic place detection: does the app read the post, or do you type the name?
- A real map: pins you can browse by area, not just a list.
- Collections: grouping by city, trip or theme.
- Trip planning: turning saves into days.
- Sharing: sending a list, or planning with others.
- Price model: free tier limits, subscription or one-time purchase.
MapDreamy
Share a TikTok, Instagram Reel or YouTube Short to MapDreamy, or paste the link, and it finds the place in the post, video included, then pins it with a description, highlights and the original post. Posts with several places give you each one. It adds collections, filters by category, city or country, an AI trip planner that starts from your saves, shared trips and a Discover feed. Free on iPhone and Android; the free plan keeps 3 imported posts and Pro removes the limit. Suits people who save from several apps and plan trips from those saves.
Google Maps lists
Not built for social videos, but already on most phones: lists, notes, shared lists, offline maps, reviews and navigation. You search each place yourself, and the video is not kept unless you paste its link into a note. Suits a handful of places, or anyone who wants no new app.
TikTok Favorites and Instagram Saved
Both let you sort saves into collections. They keep the video but give you no map and often no address. Fine as an inbox, weak as a travel list.
GeoTok
Listed on the App Store as 'GeoTok: Restaurant Wishlist'. The listing says it saves restaurants from TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube videos to a map by checking the caption, audio and on-screen text, and you review the suggested place before it is saved. It also accepts food screenshots and hands off directions to Apple Maps or Google Maps. Free to download, but the listing says it requires a subscription, with a monthly cap on processed shares. Suits restaurant-focused savers.
Korka
Korka (listed as Food Map) saves food posts from Instagram and TikTok on iPhone. Its listing says it identifies the venue from captions, photos and tagged accounts, organizes places by trip, mood or occasion, and shares a city list with one link. You start with 5 free imports; a one-time purchase unlocks unlimited imports, with no subscription. Suits food lovers who avoid subscriptions.
Travio
'Travio: Travel & Trip Planner' is subtitled 'Save Places from Reels, TikTok'. The listing says you share a reel to find and save the place, then let Travio generate a plan or build your own, with mapped stops, distances and travel times. Shared boards let companions collect places together. Free with in-app purchases. Suits people who want saving and an itinerary in one app.
Rhyme (formerly Roamy)
The app once known as Roamy now appears as 'Rhyme', subtitled 'Build Trips From Travel Reels'. Its listing describes one-tap import from TikTok and Instagram, detection of locations mentioned in the video, a map of everything saved, and days arranged into a route from your trip length. You can copy community guides or friends' itineraries. Free with in-app purchases. Suits trip builders who start from reels.
Doko
'Doko: Save Places & Guides' is built around your own notes on places. The listing says you can save from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Safari and Maps through the share sheet, group places into collections by city or trip, see collections on a map and send one as a PDF. A smart import that lists places from a shared message or page is part of Doko Plus. Free with up to three collections. Suits note-takers who curate lists for friends.
Punkt
Listed as 'Punkt : cool spots', it centers on spots shared by chefs, food critics and creators you follow, with a personal map, your own guides, and table availability and booking through Table Today. Importing from TikToks, Instagram Reels, screenshots and Google Maps is listed under its Ultra tier. Free with in-app purchases. Suits restaurant discovery first, social saving second.
Mapstr
A long-running personal place map. The listing describes unlimited colors and tags, importing Google Maps, CSV or KML lists, and sharing your map by link that opens in any browser. It does not mention TikTok or Instagram import, so you add places yourself. Free with in-app purchases; unlimited places is listed as a Mapstr Plus feature. On iPhone and Android. Suits people who want a polished manual map.
Wanderlog
A full trip planner rather than a saving app: itineraries, budgets, reservation import by forwarding emails or connecting Gmail, a map of every place you add, and real-time collaboration. Its latest release notes add 'Import from anywhere': paste a link or share reels to create an itinerary. Free with an optional Pro subscription, on iPhone and Android. Suits detailed planners, including road trips and groups.
