Beaches and Lakes in Italy From TikTok: Sardinia, Calabria, Dolomites
Sardinia gets the most attention, and one cove gets most of that. Cala Goloritzé appears in six posts, three times as many as any other place here, with creators calling it their favorite place in the world. Cala Mariolu and Spiaggia La Pelosa follow with two posts each. All three come with rules: booking, visitor caps, or both.
The second half of the list is Calabria, four beaches from one creator's Calabria beach guide: Spiaggia dell'Arcomagno under its rock arch, Michelino at the bottom of 250 steps, Riaci for snorkeling and the quieter Marinella di Zambrone. The single lake is Lago di Sorapis in the Dolomites, milky turquoise and reached only on foot. Almost everything here is free to visit.

Where creators go
- Cala Goloritzé
A limestone cove on Sardinia's east coast with a natural arch and a 143-meter pinnacle called the Aguglia. You reach it on a 3.6 km hike from the Golgo Plateau, and access must be booked, with a cap of 250 visitors a day. It is the most posted place on this page, by a wide margin.
- Spiaggia La Pelosa
Fine white sand and shallow turquoise water at Stintino in northwest Sardinia, framed by a 16th-century Aragonese watchtower. Summer visits need an online reservation, with a cap of 1,500 people a day. Bring a mat for under your towel and rinse at the showers before leaving; both are rules. A creator calls it their favorite place on earth.
- Cala Mariolu
A cove of tiny white and pink pebbles below limestone cliffs on the Gulf of Orosei, reached only by boat or a hard hike. Boat landings must be booked in advance. The water is clear enough for snorkeling, with freshwater springs along the shore, and it makes a creator's top five Sardinian beaches.
- Lago di Sorapis
A glacial lake near Cortina d'Ampezzo with milky turquoise water, reached only on CAI Trail 215. Swimming and boating are banned, and the listing advises going early to avoid summer crowds. Rifugio Vandelli is 10 minutes above the lake. A German creator calls it the most beautiful lake they have ever seen.
- Spiaggia dell'Arcomagno
A beach in San Nicola Arcella closed in by a huge limestone arch, with a small cave holding freshwater springs. Reach it on a short hike or by boat from the village. The listing recalls its use by Saracen pirates and mentions sunset views.
- Spiaggia di Michelino
A white sand cove near Parghelia, about 3 km north of Tropea on the Costa degli Dei, with a viewpoint above that looks toward Stromboli. The creator's warning is friendly but real: more than 250 steps down, and the same back up.
- Marinella di Zambrone
A wild beach at Zambrone, also called Paradiso del Sub, with white sand, granite rocks and clear water good for snorkeling and diving. The creator notes that the path down keeps the crowds away. It comes from the same Calabria beach guide as Michelino and Riaci.
- Spiaggia di Riaci
A beach in the Baia di Riaci near Tropea with clear water and rock formations, listed as recognized by National Geographic as a top snorkeling beach. Bring a mask. It is the fourth Calabrian beach from the same guide and, like the others, free.
Sardinia's booked beaches
The three Sardinian beaches share one practical point: plan ahead. Cala Goloritzé caps visitors at 250 a day and requires a booking, Cala Mariolu requires advance booking for boat landings, and La Pelosa needs an online reservation in summer with a daily limit of 1,500. Goloritzé is marked cheap and La Pelosa moderate; Mariolu is free once you get there.
Calabria's Coast of the Gods
The four Calabrian beaches come from one creator's beach guide to the region, and all are free. Michelino and Riaci sit just outside Tropea, Marinella di Zambrone a little further up the coast. Arcomagno is in the north of the region, near San Nicola Arcella. Expect stairs or a path to reach most of them.
Good to know
Yes. Access to Cala Goloritzé must be booked in advance, and the number of visitors is capped at 250 a day. The cove is reached on a 3.6 km hike from the Golgo Plateau. It has the most posts of any beach or lake in Italy on this page, six in total.
