Lakes in Germany From TikTok: Bavarian Alpine Lakes Creators Post
Every entry here is in Bavaria, and almost all of them are mountain water. Eibsee sits below the Zugspitze with a 7 km loop path. The Schrecksee is listed as Germany's highest alpine lake, at 1,813 meters in the Allgäu, and one creator says it took a 12-hour hike. Obersee is reached by boat across the Königssee, and Spitzingsee is Bavaria's largest mountain lake.
Two entries stretch the topic. The RupertusTherme in Bad Reichenhall is a thermal spa with Alpine brine pools, and InselMühle is a beer garden and hotel in an old water mill on the Würm in Munich. The lakes are all free to access. If you want to swim, Eibsee is the one whose listing mentions swimming season, SUP and boat rentals.

Where creators go
- Eibsee
A clear alpine lake at the foot of the Zugspitze in Grainau, with a 7 km trail around the shore, seasonal boat trips on the Reserl, and SUP and boat rentals. Access is free. Two creators posted it, one including it in a list of their favorite nature spots.
- Schrecksee
A dammed alpine tarn at 1,813 meters above Bad Hindelang in the Allgäu Alps, often wrapped in fog. It is a hiking goal, not a roadside stop: one creator captions their sunset view with a 12-hour hike. Free and remote, so plan a full day.
- Spa & Familien Resort RupertusTherme
A thermal spa in Bad Reichenhall with indoor and outdoor pools of AlpenSole brine at 32 to 40 °C, 1,500 square meters of water, saunas and a fitness studio. A creator calls it one of their favorites for floating in salt water with a mountain view and suggests it as an evening plan, open until 22:00, after the Königssee, Hintersee or Kehlsteinhaus.
- Obersee
A lake between steep rock walls in Berchtesgaden National Park, reached by the Königssee boat to Salet and then on foot. The water mirrors the mountains, and paths lead to the seasonal Fischunkelalm and toward the Röthbachwasserfall. The creator's caption is one word: nature.
- Sylvensteinspeicher
A large reservoir near Fall in the Isarwinkel, built for flood control and hydropower and popular for fishing. A Munich creator suggests it as a day trip for anyone who wants to skip the Oktoberfest crowds, with a long walk around the lake. Free public access.
- Spitzingsee
Bavaria's largest mountain lake, 28 hectares in dark forest south of Schliersee, with free access and high water quality. A creator rode past it on a road bike loop from Tegernsee via Valepp to Schliersee and singles it out as the stretch where the landscape changes completely.
- InselMühle
A hotel and beer garden in a water mill dating from 1445 on the Würm river in Munich, with chestnut trees, Bavarian food and Augustiner beer. Riverside walks lead toward Schloss Blutenburg. It appears in a Munich food guide series.
Berchtesgaden: lake by day, brine pool at night
Obersee and the RupertusTherme pair naturally. The lake is a boat ride and a walk inside Berchtesgaden National Park, and the creator who posted the spa suggests it for the evening after a day around the Königssee. Both are in the far southeast corner of Bavaria.
Day trips from Munich
The Sylvensteinspeicher and Spitzingsee are within reach of Munich for a day, one recommended as a quiet alternative to the Wiesn, the other as part of a cycling loop. InselMühle is inside the city, for a beer by the river after a walk. Eibsee and the Schrecksee are longer trips toward the Zugspitze and the Allgäu.
Good to know
Eibsee below the Zugspitze and the Schrecksee in the Allgäu have the most posts among the lakes, two each. Creators also film Obersee in Berchtesgaden National Park and Spitzingsee near Schliersee. The RupertusTherme spa in Bad Reichenhall, with brine pools and mountain views, also has two posts.
