San Sebastián Pintxos and Beaches From TikTok

Creators come to San Sebastián to eat, and most of them eat on the same few streets of the Parte Vieja. Bar Sport on Fermin Calbeton is the most posted place in the city with 14 posts, for grilled foie gras, sea urchin and crab-stuffed squid. La Viña on 31 de Agosto follows with 13; it is the birthplace of the burnt Basque cheesecake, and the posts say to order it there.

La Cuchara de San Telmo (12 posts) is where creators order suckling pig, pork cheek and roasted octopus, and one suggests asking the waiter when the options feel overwhelming. Gandarias Jatetxea (11) gets a more mixed review: the sea urchin is recommended, but one creator says the signature txuleta pintxo has been inconsistent and overcooked lately. Restaurants make up 25 of the city's 47 places on the site, and bars another 7.

Building a pintxo crawl in the old town

Each old town bar has a dish the posts name. Ganbara is known for egg yolk with wild mushrooms; one creator warns that the scarlet prawn is pricey. Bar Nestor on Arrandegi serves its tortilla twice a day and a txuleta steak that one post says involves a two-hour wait. At Borda Berri, the beef cheek and pork rib kebab stand out. Bar Txepetxa, a few doors from Nestor, tops anchovies with spider crab cream, and Bar Goiz-Argi is posted for its prawn skewer. Casa Urola is the expensive stop, with scallop and lobster pintxos. Bar Gorriti, open since 1921, is a quick mini-bocadillo before going deeper into the old town.

Tortillas, burgers and mussels for less

Several popular spots are listed as cheap. Antonio Bar on Bergara Kalea makes only two large tortillas a day, and creators say they often sell out, so arrive early. Bar Desy sells nearly 200 burgers a day made with txuleta meat and a creamy cheese sauce. La Mejillonera on Portu Kalea is loud and tiled, with mussels at €5.50 a plate; the plain lemon ones are the favorite. Across the river in Gros, Bodega Donostiarra is the place for a medio de bonito, a tuna sandwich.

Beaches and viewpoints

Between meals, the posts head to the water and up the hills. Playa de La Concha has the white promenade railing, views of Santa Clara Island and a floating platform with slides in summer. Playa de la Zurriola is the surf beach, with four surf schools, and one creator recommends eating takeaway tortilla on its seawall at sunset. Monte Urgull rises over the old town with the Castillo de la Mota and the Sacred Heart statue, and on Monte Igueldo a funicular climbs to an amusement park from 1912 with views of the bay.

Good to know

Bar Sport leads with 14 posts, then La Viña with 13, La Cuchara de San Telmo with 12 and Gandarias Jatetxea with 11. Ganbara has 9, and Antonio Bar, Bar Desy and Bar Nestor have 7 each. All of the top four are in the Parte Vieja, within a short walk of each other.
